I know this really should go in the classifieds but this information does not need to be classified!!!!! And maybe this could generate some discussion about outboards (even though there seems to be several threads, but scattered, throughout this forum).

There is a guy here in St. Petersburg, FL (Star Marine) who is selling Brand new Tohatsu sail-pro 6hp extra long shaft (25") 4 stroke motors for $1,395 plus tax.

These motors retail for $1,796

I bought one yesterday and have not tried it out yet but I am sure this will be a great motor. I have no affiliation with this guy, just want to share the great deal with my fellow Com Pac people and help him out for doing a great service. It comes with a 12V, 60W, 5A charging system that will keep the batteries charged! And a 3 year warranty!!!

Here is the link on Craigslist,
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/boa/1932527487.html

and/or you could go to his website (the website list the motor for $1549 but they are on sell for $1395)

If you were thinking about getting a new motor, this is the one and now is the time!!!

Great engine, I have one on my 23/3. Just be sure to never overfill the crankcase. It will make it run lousy after a little while, oil gets up into the PCV and fouls the plug.

good thing he gave me an extra plug!!!!

No seriously, thanks for the info!

I have it on my 19, looking forward to seeing how much better it is than my Yamaha 2.5 hp shortshaft

I have this motor on my Alacrity 19 and I love it.  Nice and quiet, easy starting, easy on gas and it charges a battery!
