I've seen this ad on CL and it looks like something I'd be really interested in IF it had a trailer.  Anyone know of a trailer for sale anywhere that would work?

No need to build a trailer or buy a trailer. Sit her on her wood cradle and place the boat and cradle on a 16 foot flat bed two axle trailer like I did with a 26 foot sail boat and tow it home. These trailers can be rented from a lot of rental places.

Yep, I hauled my 16 from Florida to Tennessee on a flat bed car hauler with cradles, all strapped down.  Didn't have a bit of trouble.  Price looks right too!  Good luck.

Skip,
I would consider that but I still plan on being a trailer-sailor.  I'll need a trailer either way, so any 19 I buy is going to have to have a decent trailer with it.  Just for fun I checked on the cost to have it shipped to WI.  The quote was surprisingly reasonable at about $800.  I've sent out some inquiries to new/used trailer dealers to see what is available out there.

NO- NOT THE FLAME THROWER!  Hey, couldn't you use that for a welder?
This 19 sounds nice. I had the pleasure of sailing on a 19 a few times. A quite different boat than my 23 but definitely nice...likes to sail flat.
If work doesn't pick up, a contingency plan that I'd rather not use is to sell my 23 and downsize to a 19. A 16 is a bit too small for me but solo sailing on a 19 would be fine. Trouble is, I've been spoiled by my 23.

This boat was damaged during a recent hurricane.  It took a roof tile through the starboard side, but didn't sink or take on water: 19's are bullet proof, apparently.  It was professionally repaired, but my buddy reports that the hull deck parting flange has leaked a bit.  He also said the hull needs to be compounded because of oxidation.  All that said, the interior cushions are like new because his F-I-L stored them inside his house and not in the boat.

If anyone wants to talk to him, send me a private message with your Phone Number & I'll pass it along to him.  I've been trying to get him to bring the boat to Smith Mountain Lake so he and I can have some one design races!
