No need for the graphic and t-shirts...Doug took care of everything (see his original post). And they look really good!!! (thanks again Doug).

As for activities, I vote to not go crazy with it.  A meet/greet, a BBQ one evening, a race one afternoon and a known lunch hook location every day are probably enough.  Too many activities will make it stressful for you as the planner.  Just my opinion..

With that said, I'll add something else :)  A photo gathering opportunity.  I'm leaning towards writing an article for Small Craft Advisor to cover the event.  9 or 10 boats all tied off togther or just nearby sailing together will make for good photos.  Another thought is make the race course small (say 50 acres with frequent tacks) and I'll sit in the middle and get close up photographs.  just a thought...no biggie if that does not work out, I'm sure I can get photos as needed.

salty. i agree on the t shirts. doug did a superb job, even better than 2008--and again thanks to doug and linda. my little graffic was just something i came up with. as far activities---i thought i would set up a three pylon race course with a tack a reach and a run. we could do multiple laps. and im also in full agreement on simple low stress activities. at my age swimming and drinking are activities. on the south side of the lake is a long shallow flat shore that would work good to pull our boats up to. similar to the clay bank we used before but with ample room for lawn chairs beach towels and umbrellas. figure that the clay bottom isnt a problem as most people will be floating arround on cushions. the only sand beaches are public and can be crowded. the bbq at the greenes cabin should be easy. i figure that for an evening meal after we are done sailing for the day. with grog into the night. i dont know if their cabin faces the lake but if it does all the better. p.s. wasnt trying to steal dougs thunder for the t shirts his are first class,

Doug-

Thanks again for getting the t-shirts and mugs created.  I think I can speak for everyone by saying you did a great job on the design!

I got a microfiber T-shirt and the white/gold stein.  Should be here end of week.   Was considering sending Gerry a stein too..as a gift and possibly inspiration to join us in Illinois.

Our t-shirts arrived!!!!  They look great.  Thanks Doug for designing them.  Now all we need is some warm weather.

Thank you.  What, warm weather here in Wisconsin?  We are headed for 40 degrees next Saturday!!!  Unwrap the toys.
Your new rudder looks great.
Do you ever sail at lake Kegonsa?  Now that we are right next to hwy 12 North of Elkhorn, we'll probably be going there more often.  Nice lake.

We havn't tried Kegonsa yet.  Friends say to be careful of the ramp you use.  The one on the Stoughton side is said to be pretty shallow.  Otherwise they like the lake.  Hopefully we will get to try it this summer.  Maybe we should try for a pre-rendevzous rendevzous.  Let us know when you are thinking about going there.  We have been on Monona and Mendota in Madison,  Rock Lake in Lake Mills, Waubesa in McFarland, and Koshkonong around Fort Atkinson.  We love 'em all.

Doug-

Becky and I saw Linda's video from the 2008 Rendezvous on Facebook.  Good stuff!

My plan this year is to collect digital pictures from everyone after the event and make a combined photo DVD for everyone who attends.  Just insert it in the DVD player and it will play a slideshow with music.  No computer required.
