This may get moved to off topic, but how do I feel?:

We are in a period of warming.  It has been measured.  There have been others before.  Some of them came when there was no industrialization or automobiles.

In spite of Al Gore, there is no consensus as to the cause, root or otherwise.

Kyoto was simply a U.N. attempt at redistribution of wealth.  In fact the industrial nations that had done the least to curb their pollutants and have the highest of rate growth in said pollutants, China and India, were exempted under Kyoto, while the U.S. and Western Europeans who have spent trillions since the late sixties on pollution control devices, precipitators and the like were to pay the highest price, which would cripple what is left of our respective industrial economies.

I've just had the coldest summer in the last ten, and enjoyed it immensely.

At one time there was a consensus among scientists that the earth was flat.
At one time there was a consensus among scientists that the earth was the center of the universe.

Frank, great take on the topic, if global warming is happening it is far better than global cooling. Man can adapt to warming a hundred times easier than a ice age. Living in northern Wisconsin is like living in an ice age a good part of the year. The earth is flat.........Phil

Minnesota is still plenty cold as well...  One of the coolest summers on record this year.  I'm not denying that global warming is happening or that we don't need to get a handle on it.  But, who knows? Global warming might mean Superior will be the next Caribean?  Our property values up here in the tundra would have to go up, wouldn't they?  I'd love a longer sailing season too.

Do we, as mere human beings with our very limited understanding, really think we can alter the state of the climate of this entire planet? If we want a cause and really want to achieve something, how about spending some of that money to feed the worlds poor, bring medicine and give them jobs? Sounds simple, it's not, but should (and is) being done.
Climate change is a very real and historically measurable fact. The idea that we have placed it above the well being of human beings and made it a religion is despicable and shows just how far we, as a race, have fallen.

I half expected this thread to be a defense of Gore. I was pleasantly surprised to see it in defense of humanity. I can't change a lot of things, but I can help a fellow human in need.  That makes the most sense to me.

Well said, Bob23. I couldn't agree more.

Make every effort to leave the Earth a little better than we found it, in as many sensible ways as possible.

Have fewer children, drive smart, use the wind and solar.

That does not include wasting cash with the politicians cause du jour.

fafnir

I live in Minnesota and strongly SUPPORT global warming.  I really dislike how the lakes freeze and would enjoy a longer sailing season. :-)

I agree with fafnir, the warmer the better, those of us trapped in the north need global warming and are doing our best to increase air temperate by exhaling vast amounts of hot air......Phil
