Hi all,
I am trying to figure out a way to use a set of 8 foot oars on my CP16.  Has anyone esle tried this.  I figured I could put a seet accross the cockpit in front of the companionway, but cannot figure out how to attach the oarlocks...

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,
Jack

Welcome Jack

Suggest you read entire site kchunk has highlighted. After reading that, yes I for one have and do use oars on my 16.  You could install oar locks but I chose not to cut any holes in my boat.  Instead I use lines looped through cleats.  When in open water I use hatch board placed across foot well just aft bridge deck and row facing aft.  When in harbor I move board to aft end of cock pit and row facing forward so I can see whats other boats may be doing.

Be prepared for assistans being offered by responsible boaters.

Thanks for the information!  I am leaning toward a sculling oar now, but am still thinking about it.  Seems not many people use oars....

I appreceate your time!
