Well... it has been quite a while since we have had a fresh episode of Blond Ambition, the sitcom.  Perhaps that is because I am learning to sail.   Maybe not.

Last Friday night (June 26th) my son and I arrived in Atlantic Highlands after a parting hail storm.  It had been raining all week but the forecast for the weekend was hopeful.  It stopped lightening long enough for the launch driver to transport us out to Blond Ambition.  As we stepped aboard I noticed something that stopped me cold.  My forward hatch was open.  The launch driver said "Maybe the wind blew it open"  but I knew that the dumb blond owner left it open the previous Sunday when she left!  Needless to say the interior was a puddle.  It had been raining every day that previous week and the vberth was soaked.  Fortunately the one quarter berth was dry and so that is where my son slept.  I left to get a few towels (and a few drinks) and then I slept on the other quarter berth lined with towels.

The following day would have been a great day for a sail.. sunny and a nice breeze.  But we were too busy hanging our towels and bedspreads and sleeping bags and pulling out the cushions for a good drying.  Blond Ambition looked like a laundry barge!!

What can I say?  Another lesson learned the hard way... I will never leave the hatch open again!!

Cheers,

Sherie:
I have been waiting for this episode! I really think you have the material for a next major motion picture. After all, they are making them about board games, right? Board games...what has this world come to.
This was a great weekend for sailing but I only got out on Koinonia once today, for 1 1/2 hours. I got to try out the Force 5 yesterday...interesting- very fast!
Stay well and keep sailing and writing!

I don't know about your cushion covers but mine are zippered on and a fine grade of material. So is the laundry mat in your future? All other items 'cept the factory rug, and the veneer plywood should be fine as these dry. Watch the wood might curl up.
skip.
