Anchor stowing

I've seen many pics on this website now and I've noticed that many of you keep your anchors on the bow rail.  What do you use (clips, etc.) to mount the anchor to the rail?  Also, how do you store the chain & rode?  I currently keep my anchor in the starboard side cockpit locker and I hate it there!  Pain in the 'you know what' when it's time to haul it out for use.

Thanks guys/gals!

Funny you should mention this now.  I kept my anchor on the bowsprit, held there by bungee cords, until this past weekend when I noticed that the anchor chain was getting hung up on the dock cleat when the boat would rock from the waves at the marina.  This could lead to disaster in a big wind! I couldn't configure it where I was comfortable with it not happening again, so I stowed the anchor in the starboard cockpit locker! So, sorry to say, I'm no help to you, and looking for suggestions too.

My ground tackle is mounted on the bow roller and pinned to the landing for the headstay/furler. Pictures show it is ready in a heart beat to use.

The pin, cotter with lanyard, nylon and metal disc and rubber cushion all came from the hardware store.

All I did was drill a pin hole in the shank of the anchor.

The anchor has a clevis that is tied into a 15 foot nylon dipped chain.

This dipping process really holds the anchor chain in a nice tear-drop shape that remains rock steady on the deck in a blow.

The chain has a clevis that ties into the anchor line eye and 150 foot of anchor line is fed down the rope pipe and into the rope locker in the bow.

If the whole thing lets go...and I'm in deep water the anchor line is tied to the compression post to save all. And no one is going to run off with my anchor. Well not more than 150 foot away.

Additionally I carry a light weight anchor for a lunch hook under the settee with 75 foot of line and toss that off the stern and cleat it their for short stays.

All anchors are Danforth type. skip.
