Gentlemen - Thank you for pointing me to the threads on Rudder Bushings. I fixed my sloppy rudder today. Most expensive part was the 3/8" x 12" drill bit. Need this bit to maintain correct angle while hand drilling. Keeps drill above or below the boat. After drilling out the brackets by hand, I went to Ace Hdw. and got standard 3/8" x 1/4" brass shoulder bushings. Ace only had 1/2" lengths. Tapped in bushings at top and bottom of each hole. Added nylon spacer between, inserted SS 1/4 x 20 Hex Bolt and locking nut and I have a solid rudder again. Thanks Again. Planning to take a couple days off after the 4th of July and get "What A Dame" in the water.
