Driving by Shelia Turner's Great Lakes Yacht Service the other day I caught a glimpse of a unknown Com-Pac 19 on a trailer.  I stopped to give her a look~see. It's an XL but about 100 hull #'s older then mine. The name on the transom is 'something [?] Gala' with a green shamrock painted on the transom. She's fitted with a furler and is fitted with a bimini. Some painted stripes are flaking off but she looks loved. I left a note may be I'll get a cell call. skip.

Did you check the Com-Pac registry?

Craig Weis

Yes I did, no luck. Even pull the 'vin' # too. No responce to my note either, but it has not been a solid week yet. skip.

Bottomjob

Hi Skip,
You won't believe this, but my name is Greg Weis (I'm not kidding!) and I just purchased the 19/3 from GLYS's last week. Tony Peot saved the note that you taped to her and gave it to me when I finalized the sale. I just brought her back to Indianapolis and will be trailering her around some of my favorite lake spots next spring. I usually sale Lake Monroe in Bloomington, Indiana, but am looking to take her to Florida a time or two. My wife and I moved up to Indy from Florida two years ago and we really miss Tampa Bay sailing. Sorry to take the boat away from Sturgeon Bay, but I promise to take really good care of her. New name will be 'Carol Ann II' after my wife.

Very cool.  Congrats on your new purchase!  Mid-west sailing ain't FLA, but it can be pretty darn good.  I had my first ride on a Com-Pac 16 in Illinois.

Enjoy!  8)
