Hey all, just sharing some excitement as I've purchased my first sailboat...a CP-19!  I won't be able to sail her for about a month yet because it's still winter in some parts of the country, but it'll give me time to spruce her up and get her ready to go.

It's going to be a fun summer!!!

Juststartin,
Congratulations !!!  I am sure you will have many wonderful hours aboard your new boat.  "Fixin" them up is part of the fun.
Where are you sailing?  It is still cold and snow here in SouthEastern Wisconsin.

Post some pics when you can.
Again, congratulations.
Happy Sailing

Congratulations, Im sure she is a beauty.

You might not be able to sail for a while, but she is yours anf you have the pleasure of knowing that and perhaps you can spend some time with her, touching up a few things to your personal taste or add a few things.

Enjoy,

Glenn

ps, welcome to the Com Pac Family..............

I'll be sailing in SE Michigan (Metro Detroit Area).  Good inland lakes around here, not to mention the wonderful Great Lakes!!

Thanks!  I won't be able to bring her home for about 3 weeks yet.  Since I'm new to sailing, I've asked the old owner to give me a first sail and he's agreed.  Obviously, we need to wait for the ice to melt and since he lives about 2.5 hours away, there's no sense in trailering her home just yet.  It appears that the winter is slowly loosening her grip so it's only a matter of time now!!  :)

Just:
Congrats and welcome. I only sailed in a 19 once and loved it!
Here in NJ, the Barnegat Bay water is still cold, air is too but it's been a warm winter- no snow to speak of.
I work in construction and across the street from the house we're building is a nice marina with some large sailboats resting for the winter. I look at 'em everyday! Keeping the dream alive!!!

Hi JustStartin,

Welcome aboard.  I live in Brighton and work in Ann Arbor.  I sail my CP19 a lot so if you want we can go over the 19, sail, whatever....and I can show you what I do with mine.  I live on a lake so we just walk out and go.  I usually launch in late april.

You'll love the 19.  It is a very stable, roomy, and a tough daysailor.

Give me an email if you want to get together.

Marcus, that's a great offer! It would be a pleasure to sail with you...as you know I'm only a bit over an hour from you so it wouldn't be too much hassle at all for me to come out there.  I'm hoping to have a few sails with my CP-19 in by the end of April so I won't be a total clutz by the time we hook up!  ;)

Great,

Just message me through this board, or I'll get ahold of you when I launch this spring.

I  alot of times I just go out listen to music and chase waves around for an hour.  No real purpose other than unwinding.  Love to have you along so I can sit back.  You can do the steering.  If its windy we'll put the spinnaker up.
