I've just been looking at a web site that talks about a new configuration for a sail.
The author made a video showing a single square sail that replaces the main and jib, promising better and easier sailing.
A brief video makes a good argument, and I'd like to hear if anyone else has seen this HBR (Hoyt Balanced Rig) and what they think of it.

Interesting concept, and all the principles he mentioned are sound and seem to be well-implemented.

My first question is: How do you heave-to with an HBR? :D
My other car is a sailboat.

The rig seems like a really neat idea.  I would love to see it tested on a catboat.  What will the performance differences really be under different conditions on two Suncats with the only difference being  the rig?
