Hello Com-Pac 23, Pilot House, Horizon Cat owners,

Have any of you had the problem of your trailer keel support boards breaking?

I'm not sure about the Performance Trailers previously used for the CP23 and Horizon Cat, however, the Magic Tilt trailers do not have a metal support (or rollers) underneath the 2 x 6 board used by their trailer.  This has resulted in a couple of them breaking due to the weight of both the front and the back of the CP23 keel.

I have worked with Great Lakes Sailboat (CP and Magic Tilt dealer) and incorporated a 3/8 metal "C" channel professionally welded to the trailer and under the normal wooden keel board.

I was just curious what others have experienced and what you have done about this problem.

I also happen to have a couple of spare trailers that are made for the CP23, Pilot House and Horizon Cat that I have not put up for sale yet, but would certainly work with a CPYA forum boat owner if they were looking for an updated trailer.
