And other reasons for not sailing today. High winds out of the south for the past 2 weeks have dropped water levels to the point I have 2 boats sitting on the bottom. The Seidelmann is slightly resting on her 3' keel. The Compac I hastily tied up too close to shore is firmly resting her 2' keel in the mud. Today tri to move her farther out, but she didn't budge. Tomorrow I'll get in the water and try pushing her out.

I broke the rudder and it's housing on the sunfish, so even that is just sitting.

The Orion is without a mainsail as I await delivery of hardware.

Maybe I could fashion a sail to one of the kayaks!

Bummer, Carl -- all will resolve soon, I'm sure! In the meantime, yeah, kayak plus sail - I'm thinking that as well for my kayak -- looking into this: https://www.falconsails.com

Winds subsided so both boats are a floating again. I was getting the Compac ready for a sail when a friend called. His wife broke her ankle and a uti has gone sepsis. He needed me to take his dog out. We decided to visit them in the hospital.

Oh my gosh! That is horrible about your friend's wife -- I hope she feels better soon!

Glad that the boats are floating again!

The infection is under control, but 2 more surgeries on her ankle are scheduled for this week. I've been driving to his house 2-3 times a day to take their dog out. She had just finished chemotherapy the day before she broke her ankle. He has no idea how to handle this.
