Does anyone know what the minimum hull thickness is on a Suncat?

This is what I received from Com-Pac some time back.

Donald - this is the laminating schedule for the Sun Cat hull:

LAM #1 - 1 ½ oz mat skin w/2mm core mat on hull sides
LAM #2 - 1 ½ oz mat and 24 oz woven roving

It has been the same since the beginning.  It is polyester resin.  We do not use epoxy or vinyl ester resin.  Included with our antifouling process is an epoxy barrier coat.  So, if the boat has bottom paint that came from us it will have epoxy on it.  Be advised that any boat can get blisters but there are standardized procedures for reducing the incidence of same.  The biggest is epoxy barrier coat and proper maintenance of it and the antifouling paint.  The mid '80s that you mention is when the issue of blisters came to the forefront.  Many builders were caught off guard because it had not been a major issue beforehand.

The 2002 model may have a stainless-steel centerboard box in addition to the stainless steel centerboard itself.  If not properly maintained a box of that age (20 years) could have corrosion.  A 2006 model will have a fiberglass centerboard box.  See the attached PDF showing how you can tell the difference.

Thanks Don.  I don't know enough about fiberglass laminates to translate this into a hull thickness, but, all great information nonetheless.
