WTB Maxwell 14 Winch

The top broke off one of the winches on my Compac 19. Looking to replace it.

Hi Carl,  Similar problem recently here, a friend's Nimble had the  top broken off on one sheet winch.  I googled, looking for a used winch, same make/model.  Lucked out --  a local guy (New Bern) had been salvaging some boats, and had 2 of what was needed.  Have you ckd the Oriental area "junk shops"?

Thanks Al. No I haven't checked any shops as of yet. I did contact Hutton Winches in Australia. They bought the tooling from Maxwell. They're asking $45 for the drum rim and $35 for shipping. If I go that route, I'll buy 2, if I don't, my luck will dictate that the other winch breaks once the new drum rim has shipped.

Carl, I have two Maxwell 14 winches in my basement here in Raleigh. They were on my 27. I don't get to Oriental often, but I'm at my boat in Washington frequently. Let me know if you are interested.
