Storage in inspection ports

Hi everyone, I was wondering what others were able to store under the cockpit seats since the inspection ports are so small. The fenders that came with my boat are to big to fit so I might buy some smaller ones to at least get those in there. Any other good ideas from an other Legacy owner?

I know this is an old post, but better late than never.

I sold my Legacy, but used to keep all my fenders, a cockpit umbrella, spare vests, extra lines, etc. in those quarter berths under the cockpit seats.

However, I would not recommend using those little round ports in the rear of the seats as access. I always accessed this area from inside the boat only.

Reasons are that they are:
1. rather difficult to open close
2. Intended to only be an access port for maintenance. Overuse could result in leaks developing in rainy conditions.
3. Easily lost overboard
4. The cockpit must prevent sudden inrush of water in the unlikely event of a knockdown. If you get lax and leave them open, the boat will sink quickly when knocked down.
