Hi . I am new member and I can say that i was lucky to find this forum. I just bought a CP23 and it is my first sailboat. It needs some upgrades and some elbow grease and sure enough it is going to look like brand new when I finish all the task.
I have a question: What system do you use for bringing the mast down and up ? I have seen some videos in youtube and I am not sure if those are the best way to do it. I am a single handle sailor and once in a while my wife helps me but ..... no the best helper .

Thank you

Ken J

We use the trailer winch - all better half has to do is crank the winch - basically all I do is keep the mast steady

Welcome.

I made a very good solo mast raising system that is described on this site.  Go to the DIY section, first page, to the thread "Mast Raising System".  Scroll down to Tim Gardner's second post that shows an optimized link to the system description.  I've done some revision and added some pictures of the system set up for use, but have had some trouble getting a shared link set up from the Adobe cloud.  Once I figure out why it won't go I'll put that one on the site.

I've used this system a dozen or more times always single handed and it is a dream to set up and use.
