We are staying in the Old Central Hotel while we search for a long term house to lease.  Riding my bike through town I've met quite a few sailors.  One offered to sell me his 27' Island Packet for $12k.  The interior is out and so are all the ports.  Then I spotted a nice Oday Mariner 2+2 in a yard.  Hours later I met the owners at the ramp.  They moved here 2 years ago with nowhere to stay and had trouble finding a rental.  Sounds familiar.  They just bought the boat and this was only the 2nd time putting it in the water.  Unfortunately, the centerboard wouldn't drop.  We worked on it for over an hour, but only got it to move 4".  Sounds familiar.  He's  my age and loves to squirrel hunt.  Sounds familiar.  Our daughter lives north of Whitefish, MT.  They own a house in Whitefish.  If this guy also likes to fish and bicycle, I may have found my twin.

I go by the rule of no moving parts in the keel.  Much less trouble.
