2-15-25: Gerry Hutchins, founder of Com-Pac, has crossed the bar and headed west.

Sincere condolences to his family, and a huge "Thank You!" to Gerry from all of us, I'm sure.

Is this indeed a 23/2 or a 1? I thought the 1's had aluminum bow and stern rails and stanchions and on the Mark 2 Compac went to stainless. On my 1985 23/2 these parts are stainless. I don't really know so anyone out there in Compacland with some enlightening information?

It appears to be a 1 with a a later bowsprit added on. IMHO, TG

Greetings Bob and Tim,
She is documented as an 1981 23/2. She has the step galley, aluminum pulpit and Stanchions, and of course bowsprit. I?ve just written Hutchins for clarification on her factory equipment.

Updated: Gerry Hutchins confirms that this boat is a CP23 with upgraded bowsprit.
I have updated my post to reflect this.

Thanks,

Shane
