Recently installed a windex. I don?t want another step in setting the boat up or down. Can I leave the windex in place while trailering or remove the top part.

Definitely won't hold up to highway speeds.  I replaced the square head screw that came with mine with a thumb screw to provide tool free install/removal.  And as nies pointed out, a mark on the mount and stem to show alignment is helpful.

Thanks for your response and I took your advice. Went out yesterday in Pensacola Bay. Great Sail.
