Hey Carl.  Hope all is well with you and the Admiral.  We are currently packing for the trek back North with plans to leave on Monday.  Boat is almost ready, just tires and lube hubs left.

With all the craziness going on I wonder about CLR.  I have high hopes especially since I have looked forward to it since last June.  If it goes will you attend?

How has retirement gone so far?  I would bet you are busy, busy.  Most of us spent a year or longer catching up on all the honey do lists that were gathering dust while we worked.  We have completed the downsizing of our primary home moving out to a Dell Webb in Elgin.

Al,

Retirement has been horrible!  Joanie makes me do all the shopping and cooking.  She won't allow me to use the dishwasher as she claims washing by hand builds character.   My back aches from carrying laundry up the stairs.  I swear she throws clean clothes down the shute to give me more to wash.  I gave her a Roomba for Christmas to ease some of my chores, and she named it Carl!  The only time I can rest is when she is out having lunch with her girlfriends or at dinner with her boy friend.

I didn't put the boat inside for the winter because I'm afraid to move it with it needing a new axle.  I've been busy remodeling the master bath and finishing the attic above the garage.  With the mild winter I was hunting several times a week, so our freezer is stocked with rabbit and squirrel.  In my spare time she allows me to organize and digitize 32 years of slides.

Last August our youngest daughter married and I convinced Joanie to fly to Montana while I drove out with our oldest daughter.  That was one of the best times of my life!  We visited the Spam museum in Austin Minnesota where a street festival was happening and found a great local band.  In North Dakota we hiked through the Badlands, went to the Corn Palace, and visited Mount Rushmore.  Wyoming had us on another hike around Devils Tower.  The we found ourselves in no mans land as we took back roads to the Grand Tetons where once again we trekked through the mountains.  Yellowstone was another stop and more hiking, then on to our daughter's north of Whitefish Montana to arrive just in time for the wedding.  After the wedding Glacier National park had to bee seen so a 1/2 hour drive took us to it's entrance.

Our daughter was married in the forest behind her home and I performed the ceremony. (i know, right?  what was she thinking?)  It was great having all 3 daughters and 4 grandkids together.  Our eldest flew ome as she was on here way to England, and Joanie and I drove back taking our time and seeing odd little sites along the way.  Iowa was our biggest challenge as a tornado chased us almost all the way to the Mississippi.

We plan on coming to CLR, as long as we're still here.  As soon as I'm done with the remodel, finished re-surfacing the deck, and the new cement walk and patio completed, we'll put the house on the market.

Joanie has been selling decorations and items we will no longer need.  Our home is decorated americana and we're going a different route at the new place.  I want to take as little as possible with us when we move.

OOOPS!  She's coming.  Gotta go, it's paint her toenails and massage her feet day.

Interesting. I have been paying for SSL Certification for a while, never really wondered why it didn't seem to be working. Turns out there's more to it than just paying... doh. I also have to jump thru hoops to make it so.

It'll be secure sometime in the next few days. :)

Carl--Glad to hear you're enjoying retirement!  I"m sure there will be no shortage of fun in the future either!  Hoping to see you guys soon.

As far as the site not being secure, what this means is that the data being TRANSMITTED to and from the site over the internet is not encrypted.   It doesn't mean you or your personal information is at risk, or your computer will be hacked into.
It does mean that if you post your sensitive information here it's not encrypted, and would be available to see anyway.   So don't post any personal info and you'll be fine.  :)
