Hi everyone, After seeing a Com-Pac 19 up close at Union Valley Reservoir in California, i came home and sold my Catalina 25 and will soon be selling a West Wight Potter 19 ! As luck would have it I found a 1999 Com-Pac 19 in Southern California up for sell on Craigslist and after going back and forth with the owner, I paid cash and brought her home. She need some work ( which I love to do ) but seems sound and ready to get back out on the water. Something about the Com-Pac's that gets me excited about owning one! Very clean lines and almost has the schooner look. I ready am looking forward to taking the boat all over the West Coast which it's ready. I will be spending many hours scanning this web site to learn as much as I can.

All the best, Monte

welcome to "our" world!

beware bob23. he's been here for a very long time and his antics are legendary.  he believes his 23 is the best of the compacs but we 19 owners know ours are far superior.

also, don't listen to his demands for initiation fees and what not.  he's all the way on the east coast and gets lost walking to his mailbox.  oh he'll spin yarns of guido and vinnie coming to collect, but they're imaginary or at best his cats.  just do as you would at any seniors home.  smile and nod your head.

Monte, first welcome to this zany bunch of wharfrats. Second, please understand up front that Carl, while being a good judge of character really has lost it completely! Sure, there is the initiation fee of $5k but I've gotten hold of his credit card # so you are paid up in full so you'll receive no threats from me and I'll not send my cousins Vito, Guido and Tito around to collect!

Thirdly as Dante wrote: "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here". Well, it's not that bad but be forewarned- you will from this moment forward become a changed man! It happens to us all and why, just look at him! He was once a normal guy...well, there is some debate about that!!

I'm sure you'll enjoy your 19. While I haven't owned on, I've been aboard a few and I do like the different sailing characteristics from the 23.  Looking forward to hearing about your adventures and there are lots of 19 guys here who posses a wealth of knowledge!

  Cheers and fair winds!!
