I spent yesterday afternoon talking with John Smith and buying his Sun Cat. It was a well spent day. I'm now in a Goodyear store in Savannah because my tire picked up a nail on the trip here. We have 500 some odd miles between here and home but the good news is that the Sun Cat trailers well.  I'm looking forward to making the transition from sloop to cat boat.

Congrats on the new Sun! We are in our second season with our 2006 Sun Cat. Much of your sloop experience, of course, translates easily to the cat rig. There are a number of nuances, many of which you can read about here: http://www.go-embedded.com/Sailingmanual.pdf

Yes, that's a great resource which answered many of the questions that came up as I was shopping for the boat. Right now I'm cleaning, polishing, and dealing with bright work but should hav it in the water shortly. I expect there will be questions. Thanks

Are you, Kermit, the same Kermit that used to sail a Hunter 23?

No, l've three or four sailboats but never a Hunter. The Sun Cat is me downsizing to a boat that is actually trailerable rather than sort of trailerable if you can find a deep boat ramp and two or three men to help raise the mast.
