Hi so like some people I cruise the want ads. and from time to time you see some things and well I stumbled across a compac 16 for an incredibly good price. thought it might have been a typo 150 thought it should be at least about 1,500. so I made the phone call went to go look at her confirm that yes he really only wanted $150 with trailer. so I'm in Texas and if you don't know Texas is a pain in the butt to get a boat title if you don't have paperwork and if you do it's got to be the right paperwork it's can be impossible to get a title for a lost title and unknown ownership I'm sure others will say it can be done but it's difficult oh that's why this boat is inexpensive and she has a slight bow to the mast and the sales need some repair but she's a sound boat very small compared to my 30-footer it's almost comical to see them sitting in the yard together. So I've Tracked Down the last registered owners and they're willing to sign it for a new title Victory might be mine if not I have a boat that I can't use on public waterways has a lot of boats she sat for a long time so the interior needs to be redone not that there's much of an interior to these little boats and that's okay too. Looks like to me the whole to deck joint is the weak spot on this boat or at least my example that'll have to be resealed hourglass the mass has a very slight bow to it from end to end it's about a 2 inch bow so if you lay down one side you can stick to in underneath that if it's laying on a flat surface yeah so I haven't waited on one side and a piece of plywood underneath either end and waited over the bow to slowly let it Bend back to its hopeful normal shape if this doesn't take I'll heat it and see how that goes unless others have any good ideas I'm not a fan on bouncing on it to bend it back into shape.

Did you think of titling in another state, using a friend or relative as the "fictitious owner"?  Then they can sell it to you and you can get a clear title.  Might work.

Mr:
I had a similar problem with the mast on my 23. Over a winter, I suspended it between 2 saw horses and tied a cement block to it. Took out most of the bend. Do not heat it!! Take your time. At that price, you can afford to buy a new mast...and buy everyone here on the site a round of beer!!
Welcome!!!
