I have been fumbling around various forums over the last many years aiding me in my hobbies and interests and have noticed early on they are mostly negative comments and experiences. Rightfully so, most come looking for help and if all is going well there is no need to post. I always appreciated positive experiences. I found them like an oracle to finally find an answer to a question.

I recently purchased a 1980 Com-Pac 16 that needs much TLC. I was thrilled to see Hutchins Yachts was not only still in business, but 20 minute from my house. I contacted Mathew the parts manager and he sent me a parts list. I put together an extensive list of needed parts for my boat and called him back. I was notified that some of the parts needed to be made and he would call when they were ready. I asked if I could pick them up rather than pay for shipping and he assured me it was no problem. I was thinking it would take some time to "make some of the items", but Mathew called me the next morning, just over 24 hours later and told me my order was ready for pick up. I had no problem finding them I just followed the sweet smell of resin and fiberglass! The office staff was very inviting and eager to hear all about my little boat. I was there talking to them for 45 minutes. My order was stacked neatly and correct on the lobby table waiting for me.

I had a first class experience with a first rate company. Its no wonder why they are still in business. Thank you Hutchins Yachts it makes a difference.

I had much the same experience when I visited the Hutchin's at the Com-pac factory.  I'm hoping something wears out (my cap) so I have an excuse to visit again next year.

As you work on your boat, don't forget to use this forum.  Almost everything I wanted to do on my 16 was explained with pictures and advice on this forum.

Welcome to the family.

It does me good to hear these kinds of stories.

I bought my boat because it fit my wants and needs, I liked the design, it looked good and my research, here and elsewhere, indicated it was of high quality construction. I'm always glad to hear I was supporting the right kind of company too.

I've never had second thoughts about choosing a ComPac.
