Very protected but a bit crowded if you mean the small craft harbor.  They have recently done a lot of work on the road leading from the front beach to the marina and the boat ramps.  I think it is all finished.  The inlet is on the south side of all the bridges that is a positive.  There is not much there except the boats, but the town of Ocean Springs is walking distance and it is very nice.

I'm going down there around the second week of Feb.  If you want to know anything specifically, I can check for you, take a pic or two.  Let me know.
