Congratulations Ralph . . . I look forward to seeing your new  and bigger boat. We are still on the list for a 24' slip but going with our CP 16 again this year. Still have very mixed emotions about going up in size.

Marina opens tomorrow!  I am targeting another early May launch.

Thanks, Gil.  I signed up to be put on the list for a 24' slip this year as well, but they said it would probably be a few years wait!  That's ok, though, as the 20' slip is adequate.  I still have to scape and paint the bottom, so it will probably be May before she's in the water for me as well.  Looking forward to seeing you and Carole!

Don't feel bad about waiting to launch until May. Historically, April has not been a great weahter month. Plus I need a few decent weekends to get the boat ready. I am working now on the parts I ekkp at home - motor, mast, boom and all rigging, etc. Was planning to bring the hull home next weekend, but it may be a cold one.

How was your trip up from NC? Incidentally, I bought a new truck with more towing capability then my 2001 Ford F-150. Bought a left over 2006 F-150 with the 300hp big 8 and heavy duty towing package. 4 WD too. Very nice truck!

I also changed jobs 3 months ago after 12 years. I found a much better company much closer to home. No more traveling I-95 every day. I am on the road once and a while but overall my driving is much less mileage than before.

Maybe we can meet Patrica (the live one) this year?

JERSEY SHORE TRAILER SAILERS

Ralph Erickson

Gil, congrats on the new job.  Glad you were able to get something closer to home and avoiding I-95 is always a good thing!!!

The trip from NC went pretty smooth.  The trailer lights didn't work so we stopped at a U-Haul place just a few miles from where I bought the boat and had them fixed.  Then, about an hour into the drive, the tie down strap broke (the non-ratchet end lost it's hook) so we had to fix that.  Luckily, I had 2 extra straps in my toolbox, so we put both on, and had an uneventful trip from there.

Your new truck sounds nice.  I will need to get a new tow vehicle before long - I'm using my son's Jeep Liberty, but I can't always depend on him if I want to go to the Chesapeake or Jersey shore.

I'm sure you'll get to meet Patricia this year - that's one big reason I got the 19, so she would feel more comfortable venturing out.

Now, the scraping and painting begins.......
