Thanks for the welcomes!  Murphey, its an '88.  I've just bought it last weekend.  I grew up sailing on Lake Erie in my childhood through early 20s and haven't been sailing much since.  I have three children of my own now in elementary and middle school and thought it a good time to introduce them.  This is by far the biggest boat I've ever sailed, everything up until now has been Sunfish or Hobie.  After reading a lot about boats capable of fitting in my garage, safety, ease of sailing, etc I narrowed it down to the CP 16 and Montgomery 15 and started looking about a month ago.  Found this CP 16-3 only an hour away and jumped on it.  Been out sailing once already and although I'm a bit rusty, especially with rigging, it worked out well.  Planning to go again next weekend and hopefully a couple more times before the weather turns too cold.

I was looking for online tutorials or pointers for rigging the CP-16 when I ran across this forum.

Glad to be here!

Hey Greg:  Welcome aboard.  That has got to be a trick picture or the best looking gel coat on any '86 ComPac that I have ever seen.  I thought that it was new.

Smooth Sailing.

Thanks Charlie!  I have to say the previous owner took really good care of the boat, added a ton of upgrades including lots of electrical (mast anchor light, USB chargers), new sails, rebuilt trailer, etc.  It's always been in a garage when not being sailed.
