All set for the first sail of the season. Going solo. I wanted to be sure I could go through the routine before inviting a guest. Checked boat, trailer, things stored inside the house over the winter, and etc. Drove the trailer to the lake. Beautiful day, good wind forecasted.  Got all the parts and pieces assembled, ready to bend on the main and then I pulled a muscle in my back.

I took one forlorn look at the lake, packed it all up and limped home.

Moral of the story. The most important piece of equipment on board is you. Be sure to limber up those muscles before getting started.  This applies to us Old Guys and Gals as well as the younger set.  Take as good a care of you as you do the boat.

So many great sailing days this Spring.  Still limping and thinking of sailing. . .

Been there, done that, although slipped disk rather than a pulled muscle.  Outcome the same.
