Sad news to report....we won't be able to attend after all. My wife has reminded me that this planned event takes place over our daughters last weekend before we ship her off to college. So it looks like we'll be doing some sort of family outing, Mom's day on Saturday and I hope to get Robin out sailing on Dad's day Sunday. Maybe we'll get down to VA later in the fall. Have fun!

PS.
We do plan to attend the Boat Show in October maybe we can meet up for some drinks then if any of you are attending. :)

JERSEY SHORE TRAILER SAILERS

Mas

So Sorry Kevin but it is wise to put family first. We will just have to have your fun for you!

As far as the boat show, would love to, have friends that live just blocks away, can't imagine much more fun than wandering around eating seafood, looking at boats, having cold beers.......except maybe walking around, eating good festival/camp food, listening to and playing music, drinking beer, tucked in the mountains. We have been attending a cool festival since it started which is always on Columbus Day weekend. That is usually when the boat show is as well. Unless that changes we will have to find other times to meet up.

Two to three foot waves and capping yesterday here in Topping.

Ok, this may seem like a silly question (one subject that I excel in) but what is the official or near official start of the CBMSG? I know the where but not the when. And...I'm a bit too lazy to weave through all the rest of this tread. Looking forward to hanging with you wharf rats. I wish the Admiral were coming along but such is the life of being married to a landlubber.

Good question Bob! If we want to spend some time playing around in small boats then we should kick this off by noon to allow enough time to launch go to Parrot Island, hang out some, come back. recover craft, and be ready to party by 4:00ish. Four hours working up a thirst, four hours relieving it!

If we decide it is too hot, too rainy, too windy, too whatever we can simply go to the cool Deltaville marine museum, grab a lunch at Merrior, whatever till the party begins. We will need to feed ourselves something for lunch regardless. Probably shouldn't be just beer!

Let's plan to meet at noon at Regent Point Marina and make the call at that time as to on or off water start to the day with the plan to be on the water if all wish. For anyone who might have difficulty getting there by noon then the party time of 4 is a secondary meet time. Sound good?

I know folks will have some distances to travel including us,  (well except Peter), but am open for a Sunday excursion for anyone who wants to see more of the area, or even just breakfast somewhere.

Alrighty then. You'll see my ugly mug around noon!

HeaveToo

Ugh.  I swear it is always something!

It looks like some unexpected crap has come up and I can't make it Saturday.

Life seems to have a way of getting in the way lately.  Hell, I haven't seen my boat since May!  Not happy about this one.

I hope you guys have fun.  Hopefully we can all get together sometime this fall.  I may be able to make it to the boat show.  We shall see.

All I can really say that for a time when work was supposed to be slack it has been busy and on top of that all kinds of other stuff has been going on.  I am hoping the fall calms down a little.

So sorry Heave. If the "crap" resolves itself come on. They always plan a little extra on the food for the cookout so no issue there. Maybe a trip in the fall. We are in the process of selling No Mas, which kinda pains me but needed to so we more than likely won't have her for any trips. That new larger hole has some projects needed before any extensive cruising but hopefully can be ready before we are too much into the fall season.

It will be a small but fun group this time around. Looking forward to the camaraderie. Cant go wrong with such folks, cookout, hanging around boats, cold beer, dubious stories, .........!

Hey Bob,

Have just procured a six of the much talked about "last beer" so you can attempt to have the last one again!

I too am so looking forward to this epic gathering of questionable characters, a group of which I am proud to be a member.

That dang 5% cropped up and ruined my weekend.  I hope you all have fair weather and a good time.  Hit me for a round, next time.

Well, even though the ranks are dwindling, I'm looking forward to this major east coast event. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I cannot bring the famous guideboat "Straggler" down the gathering. I am however, bringing a small sailing catamaran that was a gift from a female admirer. This boat may or may not have been built by Hutchins back in the day. It's a lot easier to load on the racks of the Porsche. See ya'll tomorrow!
Bob23

Mas

I want a female admirer that gives me boats! Cu soon. I am aware that you will be coming by sea as Peter now has that tug!

We got an unannounced Compac owner show up at 9 this morning. He has been lurking and just decided to show up. Too hot, and maybe too windy for that small craft visit to Parrot but that won't deter us from, eating, drinking, talking about boats, and getting ourselves in trouble!

So Bob, this fellow clearly doesn't know about the initiation fee. Might wanna collect before he finds out.  :)

The CBMSG has come and gone. Although we were few in number and it was hot as hades, we all had a great time and thanks to Rick for providing the spark! He timed it just right to coincide with a barbeque gathering at the marina where his boats are kept and we had a nice time mingling with the regulars who keep boats there. As mentioned, Peter and I did indeed arrive by way of his new Ranger Tug which is a wonderful boat, even if it has no mast or sails. The main thing is to be on the water and we arrived in class! Not bad for a couple of old NJ guys!!!
Now for the Barnegat Bay Bash this coming weekend! I don't know how I can stand all this fun!
Bob23

Mas

Yup CBMSG has come and gone. Looks like the CBMWG will be next for our neck of the bay. Meanwhile sailing season is now just around the corner, summer doldrums cannot be too far from finished and i would think that a gathering of Compac owners, say on a coastal bay, maybe little further north of us, dinner, rafting up, dubious characters, and the like might be in order. Some sort of a bash on a bay, hmm....maybe somewhere in New Jersey. Ah there's Barn a cut, barney gut, something like that bay up there. Perfect it could be the BBB! Sounds like everyone should attend such a gathering!

Till next time.

PS Boris, if you are lurking here, sorry we missed you. Hadn't realized you had gone. You really gotta join this fine forum. Being part of the posts keeps you in the loop on activities that many times happen with PM's and other off forum communiques.

So Boris, if you are lurking here would love to know the hull number on your CP16. Again sorry you had left when i went to look for you. We used to own a 16 and always wondered what happened to her.

Join up and introduce yourself!
