Big Jon

I have a cherry little 23d with 150 hours on her.  Just stumbled upon her by luck in an estate sale.   She originally was purchased around Orlando area and eventually made her way to Hutchinson Island where I found her.  Just sailed her the last 3 days and headed back up today.  It's a wonderful little bullet proof motor.

Mas

Welcome Big Jon and congrats on the 23d. We are a small club of owners with the D's. Not many out there! This forum if full of wonderful folks who share a love of the Compac boats and bring much knowledge.

I presume she has the 1GM10 Yanmar. Ours also has only 356 hours, barely broke in! It actually needs to be used more. Keep us posted and good sailing.

Speaking of the CP23D, I just let in a new user named:  ComPac23DforSale    Now I'm no genius, but I suspect we'll be seeing an ad for one soon.e

The magic 8 ball said "Everything's a Diesel in Texas", so look towards the TX gulf coast for a classified ad near you.

Iff'n you interested, ya'll wanta giddy up down thar right quick!

you bet Zane, a very knowledgeable and friendly group!

Where did you get your 23? I been following the sales of the 23ds for awhile and knew of a 1996 that had been for sale in Wisconsin. Thought it went to fella in Ohio though. Anyway, the 23d may be the most elusive of the Compac line, congratulations and welcome aboard!

Howdy....I'm the Ohio boy that purchased that 96  23d in Wisconsin. She's been renamed Maureen, Just finished outfitting with solar and  refrig. Needed new halyards etc.
I've been watching site here for months, now I'm on board.

Welcome owner of Maureen:
Glad you've stopped your lurking ways. Why don't you and Maureen come to CLR in July? She and my 23 can play together. Welcome and please feel free to post stories of your adventures or misadventures!

Welcome indeed S/V Maureen! Had actually talked to the folks who had it for sale right before we got No Mas. The d's are few so it's great to have the collective knowledge of us here. The folks here are hugely helpful and awesome if not a little quirky!

There are a couple threads on both solar installs and refrigeration for the 23's on the 23 specific forum. Would be great if you were inclined to share what you have done. They are projects vying for funds.

I've been lurking around the forum for several years as a visitor. Just joined as I recently purchased a 23d and hauled it to Lake Conroe near Houston, Texas. Have typical spring cleaning such as bottom paint, buff hull, replace rudder bushings etc. before launching. Decided to sail for a season before contemplating any upgrades and improvements.

Hi Zane, I just purchased the CP23D some people in here had been expecting to see go on the market in Texas. And interestingly enough, I'm about to move it to Lake Conroe. I live in April Sound and will most likely keep her at Inland Marine. Maybe I'll see you on the water.

Mas

Welcome Hollywood! How fortuitous you will be on the same lake with another 23d!

Keep us posted on your adventures and life with a 23d. We are slowly accumulating many of us on this thread and there aren't many of us.

I am located at Conroe Yacht Club. Finally have her in the water. Work on her was in spurts consisting of stripping off the old bottom paint, repaired an area near the prop, fresh antifouling, raised the mast, checked out the standing and running rigging, and buffed / polished the hull. After 8 months out of the water, the diesel started up first try. A lot more on the to do list but that will wait until the weather cools off.

Well as most folks that know me are aware, we no longer have No Mas our 23D. However since this is good spot to collect folks that do have them, we spotted a 23D sitting two docks over from our boat. Her name is Grace Note. Will reach out to the owners about this fine forum!
