I can measure the overall length on the trailer this weekend.

My cp16 total length on trailer is 21 feet 7 inches.

That does not include the 12 inches for my motor mount.

My trailer tongue extends 5 feet 7 inches beyond the bow.

Get the bowsprit and 10 inch tires whether it fits as well or not.  The forward sail area make for less weather helm and better tacking. Towing will be a bit more relaxed although launching requires another inch of water.  By all means add a hydrofoil rudder if not equipped; that and adding a 130 jib makes for a sweet sailing C16.  Any C16 will do nicely in a pinch.  Stability is phenomenal.

Thank you Wayne for taking the time to measure your boat trailer combination for me. I'm working on getting a 1984 C16 Mk1 and will be adding a folding tongue so that should work. I will use your measurements for the shipper. Should I use the boats beam for the max width? I was told that the boat was wider than the trailer? I will also tell them that max height is less than 7 ft. tall when the tongue is on the ground.

For right now what I need is a sound dry hull and a good crisp main. The rest I'll have fun working on as I get acquainted with the boat.

Thanks again everyone,

RJC

That's what I was hoping. Do you happen to know the overall maximum height with the tongue all the way down to the top of the bow railing? I might be shipping here soon and that's the last peace of the puzzle. All of your measurements should be posted where others can easily find. This info is very appreciated. Vital information for shipping.

Thank you very much.
