Pretty much! I knew what I meant even if the words didn't come out right!
The Humber is a salt water tidal estuary opening out to the North Sea.
A hard antifoul should last 2 to 3 years and will allow me to scrub the bottom once or twice a season without removing the antifouling. A softer, quicker eroding antifoul will come off on the brush.
I am not worried by barnacles or similar as the boat is kept on the River Ancholme, and I lock out onto the Humber, which is a fresh water river, actually a drainage sluice, and fresh water is not good for a barnacles health.

PS Forgot to say the tidal range is approx 24 feet on Springs.

Glad the transport went well. Ideally I would like to know what sort of cost is involved in the transport as I am suffering from a bout of what could turn out to be 'anotherboatitis' and one I'm looking at is about 170 miles away. A PM would be fine if that suits you better.

The cost was £600 all in.
That was from Gosport to South Ferriby which is about 250 miles.
I used Brian at Southampton Boat Towing ( http://www.boat-towing.co.uk/ ).
His wasn't the cheapest quote but he came recommended and was helpful with suggesting where to get the boat lifted etc. The boat yard prepped the boat for transport but he went over it again and taped things up, removed nuts and bolts that might work loose, removed the windex etc.
All in all more than satisfied and would use him again.
