Brian,  a few of us were thinking of meeting up at Tice's and overnighting Friday to Saturday. Let's make it happen, hurricanes not withstanding!

Near perfect conditions for me to head south.  Need to decide to solo night sail tonight (Friday) or before dawn start tomorrow morning (more likely)

Damn this need to have to work for a living, and it's already too late to call in sick today.

So, one way or another, I will be hovering around Tices @ 10am Sat.

Any update from the southern squadron?

So, made great time from Sailors Quay, Brick to tices Shoals in about 4 1/2 hours for @ 16 miles.  Great  Reach and fun to work on surfing as wind was coming from North.  Learned to just tuck jib out of way behind main, as wind was almost dead astern.  Watched a Stuart Knockabout doing this as he passed me.  Would have been good spinnaker run, but i don't have one yet, and as I was sailing solo, I know it is too much for just me to manage.

I found Bob's cp-23, (kionionia (I may have forgotten  how to spell it)) looking like it was being surrounded by a small walrus, or big otter, but then I saw Admiral Bob climbing aboard.   

Bob kindly invite me to join raft up, but I needed to turn right around and beat all way home into that north wind.  I needed  to kick up mighty Torqeedo egg beater, to help get me to, and under, Seaside Bridge at 5 pm, 3 hours after fleeing from Bob.

Made it to slip in dark at 8pm.  Torqueedo worked great, but used 3 of my 4 batteries on the north run into the wind.  Battery powered bow light let me down, but stern light worked and boat traffic was non-existent, and water was like glass, after sun set.

This was longest solo sail on Terrapin to date, and the CP-19 love fest continues...

You made the right decision, Brian. Glad you made it back without incident. Yes, those slogs to windward can be tiring but, hey it's still sailing and sure beats sitting in an armchair wishing you were sailing! Dennis and I hung out till about 3, enjoyed a sandwich and a few beers, and headed for the barn. Slow sail back for me as the diminishing wind saw me sailing wing on wing, whisker pole out at between 3 and 3 1/2 knots. A perfect day!!
