this boat has a bowsprit and spreaders. it is white and has no bottom paint. the trailer looks to be ok and i would say that under all that crud is a good little boat. i talked with the storage lot owner and she tells me that she doubts if the owner would sell but said she would call and ask. there are numerous boats in her lot that are in similar shape including two catalina 22s. im guessing she wont contact the owner as he is paying to store the boat there. hell of a shame. i would be tempted to buy the boat myself if i could get it real cheap and restore it myself but then i better keep the peace. however, she did tell me to buy that 52 ford.

Hey Kick, If ya really wanna find the owner get the registration number and HIN off of her and you will be on your way! The trailer tags, though probably expired will clue you in as well. if your state is anything like Virginia, the registration for the boat will be good for 3 years. The decal here shows the expiration date. That should give you an idea if she has been out to pasture or the current owner is at least keeping up with the docs for her.

Now wouldn't it be better for Bob to get in trouble?!  :)

Yes, while being fun, it has it's pitfalls!! Glad my Compac friends are here to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Tim Gardner

Not sure about straight, but certainly not narrow.

As the proud owner of a long-neglected Com-Pac 16 "Foundling" who's now proudly back out on the water, I say, "Let's see some pix!

And by the way, should that boat lot owner not be forthcoming with the owner's contact info for whatever reason, if she's registered in Illinois, as I suspect, you can always use her registration number to request it from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  This is similar to how I got in touch with my "Foundling's" previous owner down here in Virginia, as Mas has already suggested.

Seriously though, let's see a few photos, yeah?
