Hello everyone.  It's been a minute (a decade) since I've been active on here, and I thought I would reintroduce myself. My name is Chris and my wife is Amanda.   We owned a 23d named Empathy which I outfitted and we took to the Abacos in the Bahamas.  That was about 10 years ago.  We had a son and decided to sell the boat.  She sold to a woman in Puerto Rico who had her shipped by container ship.  We have been traveling all summer in a land yacht for the last 8 years or so.  We just sold the diesel pusher about a month ago, and we were  going to stay home this summer.  Then I started looking at boats.  That's how it always starts right?  I found a '87 cp27 on an almost new trailer for an unbelievable price, and it was located in our favorite cruising area northern Michigan. So we are now the owners of "Paladin".  I'm typing this while anchored in the Les Cheneaux islands of Lake Huron just off the town of Hessel, MI.  I'll do a write up about that in the journeys section, but it feels good to be back on the water in a Compac.   -Chris

Welcome (back)!  I'm also looking forward to hearing about your experience in that area; I've seen some mentions of it but I'd like to hear about it from a sailor and not a fisherman.

Oh, wow — so I had inquired about that same boat, some weeks ago, but it was "crickets" from the seller — she (the boat!) looked lovely — congrats on your new-to-you 27 — super-stoked for you!

Welcome back to the CPYOA!

Congratulations!  If I ever move up from my 23/3, I'd go right into a 27.  Welcome back.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the warm welcome.  The boat is in great shape for her age.  I've had some issues, but that's normal. I'd post some pics, but it says my pictures are the wrong file or something.  I'll figure it out when I get time.

I think that .jpg files work -- I just rename my picture files with a .jpg file extension, and then it will typically work AOK to drag and drop the files into a post. I believe there is also a thread on how to do all of this -- I'll track that down and add it here in a moment.
