After my after church nap, Joanie and I set off for a 2 hour sail. The wind was out of the N/W at 5-7mph. Perfect for her. We headed down to "Peanutbutter & Jelly Cove" and made a starboard tack at it's entrance.
Sailing along the southern shore and past another derelict boat our tax dollars will pay to have scrapped. Along the shore is another boat that brokenfree during a storm last winter. Someone may be coming for her as itbhas a "No Trespassing" sign on her stern. Just past the wreckni spotted out resident bald eagle in big fir tree. Joanie was enjoying the cool breeze and sunny 75°. The wind did pick for awhile and she gave me "the look" as I held the boat on a heel. Joanie was getting tired and also had a church event this evening so we headed home. I think about how little we sailed our Compac when living in Illinois. With a 4 hour round trip tonany lake with adequate ramps, a day sail was whole day event. With the boat at our dock in the backyard, anytime I have an hour two, Im sailing. I know I put more water under her keel in the past 3 years than in the previous 13 years.

Fantastic post, Carl -- you really ought to write a book, you know -- you're a great storyteller! Had to chuckle at the part when you mentioned Joanie giving you "the look!" Hahahaha! I think a lot of us know "that look" our crew can give us indicating their comfort level has been compromised!🤣

The pics are a treat to see -- thanks for sharing these with us as well!

And, yeah, the part about getting more water/time under the keel -- that's what it's all about (IMHO). My First Mate and I are trying to sort that all out so we can follow suit in that light.

Fair winds!!!
