Good morning all!  I was on the old CPYOA forum years back and have just rejoined the new forum.

A bit of history - Purchased my first sailboat (CP 16) from Keith Scott at The Sailboat Company.  Thought I wanted to move up to something larger (Catalina 27), then figured out that was more maintenance than I wanted to deal with, especially when the boat is in the water a 2+ hour drive away in Oriental.  Back down to a CP Legacy (hull #2) which could be kept in the garage.  After a couple of good years with the Legacy, joined the dark side and switched to a power boat (Stingray 182SC) which allowed for more family time (kid wanted to go tubing which is hard to do with a sailboat).  Admittedly had a lot of fun with that boat but now with the kid going off to school and the power boat just taking up space, it was time for it to go.  Sold it a few weeks ago and the sailing bug has bitten me again.  (Insert wife's eyeroll here).  I'm thinking a CP 19 would hit the spot one day but not in a rush to add another boat to the driveway just yet.

Anyhow, thanks for reading.  May you all find fair winds and following seas.

PS:  I included pictures below because, well, who doesn't like looking at pictures of boats?
PPS:  Hopefully will be forgiven for including the C27 picture here, but I've always liked that picture.

Welcome back Joe. I'm in Oriental and sail a 19. If you ever have an itch to get out, drop me a pm. I'm sure we can schedule a day sail.

when i wanted a larger than my cp 16 my list included the cp 19 and the eclipse. couldnt find a good 19 and the eclipse was out of my price range. alternatives were catalina 18 and precision 18. i ended up with a catalina 18. it has been a great boat, i have had it for 9 or 10 years and never regreted it for a moment. easy to trailer and rig and fits in my garage. hope you have better luck finding a good 19 than i did. guess i shouldnt mention catalina on a com-pac site but there are alternatives to com-pac

No problem - I already broke the rule above by including the C27 picture.  You make a good point - you never know what might or might not be available and what boat you may find when looking that might end up being the right boat for you.  Anything that gets us out on the water is a plus in my book.
