Hi All,

We found a wonderful Compac Horizon Day Cat and she is now in our possession and ready to sail!

Actually more of a airplane hangar find vice a barn find. She was used a few times in a fresh water lake then stored in an airplane hangar.  Is has a 15 HP diesel, full cockpit cushions, bimini, full boat cover, Nutty great stereo, Mastendr Plus (yes the Mastendr plus like is on the Sunday cat), depth and speed display, etc. Only 15 Hours on the Diesel.

This is our third compac. 40 years ago we brought a ComPac 16, then a Suncat and now a Horizon Day Cat.

Thanks to all of you for answering my questions and providing insights while we hunted for our retirement boat.

very cool.  What year?  This mastender plus thing intrigues me.  I wonder if it was only put on the day cat?  I have the original mastender on my 2021 Horizon.
Sounds like a great find.  Where will you sail it?  Sail On   AL

Hi Al!

Later this week, I plan to give the Masttendr Plus a try. I am a bit leary that it will be a significant improvement over the standard Mastendr. I figure, otherwise, Compac would have put it on all Horizons Day Cats.

We sail out of Kent Island on the Chesapeake Bay. I have followed your winter FL adventures. Hope to be there next winter.

She is a 2019. Here is a link to a picture.

Very cool.  Looks to be in great shape.  I will be very interested in hearing your thoughts on the + part of getting the mast up.  Personally, the system on my Horizon works well especially once I realized that I needed to push the mast up while standing against the companionway.  Getting the mast off of flat down all the way really eased the effort to get it up the rest of the way with the winch.  Good luck and enjoy that boat!  Sail On  AL
