There were a couple of 23's on Craigslist, one was in Plymouth. Here's a link to the other one (it may be the same boat). I considered the 19 but bought a 23 and love it. The 19 has a flatter bottom and if you sail in Buzzards Bay, a flat bottom pounds in the chop. The 23 has a huge cockpit and though I was concerned about the stub keel in our strong winds, sails very well. If the winds are roaring, like today, I reef the main and enjoy the ride.

notice there isn't a stern rail, but a boom gallows instead, and no backstay.

the lower and upper shrouds are placed in such a way as to eliminate the backstay.  i have read about this and pondered if it is viable.

nice looking boat. Are you saying the backstay has been removed by the owner? Or is this a std configuration for that year/model. I certainly would not want to weaken the rig where I sail.

thx for the input

BTW - youtube "Compac 19 on Buzzards Bay"....seemed like it handled 20kts plus the 4+ ftrs fine. Wish I could contact the guy who posted on youtube and talk to him re: selling? Buzzards Bay handling? etc...anybody know him? Hes probably on the CP19 forum

Nevermind, I found him and pm'd him...simple search in the CP19 forum.

There is a Pawn shop type place in Chichester, NH (east of Concord) called Atlantic Traders.

I'm pretty sure they have a small ComPac vessel in their yard.
Give them a call.

I might be going past there on Tuesday, will stop by.
