I'm looking forward to this gathering of the great minds of the East Coast Compac-o-nauts. The monks have decided not to hire me after all. Apparently there's a rumor going around that I drink all of the beer and will not share. I tried to convince them this is a false rumor but they are standing their ground. See you all on Saturday. A Flicka may be in the future,  or it may not. But I do know one thing: The future is in my future! How's that for a thought to ponder!!

Bob, I will vouch for you that you DO NOT drink all the beer! Probably just as well the Trappist thing might not work out, you would get tired of just Belgian Ales. Now getting the slip near a brewery is still a good idea me thinks!

Well after some discussion with Pedro it appears the Presidential Yacht Sequoia, though really sitting on a marine railway in a boat yard in Deltaville, will not be particularly interesting to go see unless you wish to see one of the largest shrink wrapped items ever! The museum there is quite nice however.

Ok, some last particulars: I will include both my and Pedro's cell numbers incase folks need to communicate about timing, directions or whatever. We are hoping to get to Merrior a little earlier than 12:30 to start the process of rounding up sufficient space for us. The weather at this time is cooperating in that outdoor seating may be possible, however it does tend to bring folks out as well. We will try to make the decision about in or out for the gathering. I know Susan does not like to be shivering while eating, don't know why, but we won't have us all out if not comfortable. No worries there!

It is always amazing what the act of sailing and boating in general provides someone, and the fellowship of others is not the least of the benefits. Many thanks in advance for the desire to be gathering to those who drive from afar many with even greater distances than us, to Pedro and Becky for their misguided offer to have us all over to their home, to Tim and the other admins that keep this forum going in spite of our efforts to have it crash under the weight of our posts, and to Rich and Gerry for building craft that caused all of this.

We have begun our trek southward! Figured we'd get a head start and cut our one day drive time. We are taking a pit stop in North East, MD. See you all tomorrow!

Well, it appears we will be allowed into Merrior again after all! It was so great to see everyone from CBMWG last year and many new faces for this year's CBMWG. A special shout out should be given to Pedro and Becky for the incredible hospitality we had at their home that evening. I don't know bout anyone else but i sure vote to do a repeat of all the above for CBMWG 3.0! It's barely a year away!

Kevin was toting his Go-Pro so the guilty will be revealed no doubt. We were witness to many statements made that surprised even the folks making them. For instance, ask Lesa about the significance of a PSC 62!

I guess it will soon be time to ponder CBMSG 2.0  Ideas have already surfaced and you will just have to stay tuned to see what finally emerges. With this crew it will no doubt be interesting.    :)

From my perspective, a 12 hour round trip drive was not too far to gather together with this incredible bunch of Compac-o-nauts!! Mucho thanks to Rick for organizing this epic event and as you mentioned, to Pedro and Becky for the incredible time of outside fire, bourbon and all the food a hungry sailor could ask for!!!
Unbeknownst to me, Rick really surprised me with a one of a kind gift handmade by his wonderful wife Susan: A custom made, hand fitted complete set of 6 portlight privacy curtains for my 1985 23. These appear to be crafted of a rare white organic material that is made only in very small quantities in a undisclosed location by Trappist monks who need the extra income. Thank you Rick and Susan...I will cherish these for the rest of my days.
Most of you know that Admiral Linda did not want to attend this gathering of oyster eatin' wharfrats and me not being able to find a date (or a fig) came single. Rick however, knowing my love of Belgium ale, almost managed to have a nun attend as my date. Apparently this nun was a blonde, not that this matters and sails a Nunsuch 30. Well, to make a long story short, she never showed..probably got sidetracked coming up the Chesapeake.
But the plot thickens: On my drive home, I ended up on the phone with this very nun who, not being familiar with Rick, thought his number was just another telemarker and didn't return his call. But I'm happy to report that had Sister Mary Barbara known, she would have certainly joined this motely crew!!
Thanks to all who attended! Rick and Susan, Pedro the Great and Becky the Greater, Tim and his lovely bride Vicki, Kev and Lesa, Matt and Jackie, Wayne and Phyllis and myself and the mega yacht Julia Katherine!

I am sorry that I missed the bond fire.  We had some stuff that needed to get back to in Northern VA and we didn't have a pet sitter for Freyja, our Mastiff.

It would be fun to get together on the water this summer.  I intend to be out during May towards the end of the month.  Eventually we need to make it to Tangier Island!

JERSEY SHORE TRAILER SAILERS

Tim Gardner

So Vicki turned to me and asked " How many pictures did you take?". "None, too busy drinking beer! How many did you take?"  "None, too busy backing up your stories."

We had a great time as well. Good to see familiar faces and new ones Lesa, Wayne, Phyllis, Jackie, and Becky. Ditto all the thanks to all --- you can invite me back anytime!

Time to begin a late August - early September SMLCPR!

We had a great time. What could be better than good people, good food and good (cheap) beer?

I'd like to interject my personal take on Wayne's taste in beer. The astute observer will note the bottle of PBR in his hand. My kind of guy!!!
Incredible time for all!!!

HeaveToo

Ack!!!! PBR.  I can't understand why people want to drink that stuff.  It is the beer of college students.

Give me a good dark beer.  At lease we know that Bob does like good beers!

Other good news, Bob didn't get the last beer this time.  LOL.

Well while on the subject of beer, had brought a great dark beer from Founders called Breakfast Stout. It is an Imperial stout and could take the place of breakfast!  At 8.3 ABV you aren't going to pound down a sixer of them, actually they come in a four pack. Being a little on the lame side, i totally forgot i had them. will remember to bring them next year. Unfortunately not available year round.

As we move towards the CBMSG my tastes will shift to those dry, kicked back on a hot summer's day varieties, yes Heave i do like IPA's!. Trust me the location for the summer gathering (CBMSG 2.0) will be with good beer in mind! It will be on the water, possibly a cookout as last year but regardless it's gunna happen! Maybe this year we can skip the 95 degree heat and even invite My Friend Flicka!  :)

To me IPAs taste like cologne.  I am pretty much exclusively drinking dark beers these days.

It will be interesting to see what you come up with for the next location.
