Drooling. With my birthday approaching, if anyone wants to give me 25g, well, that would be so nice. That looks like one beautiful boat and considering the new engine and trailer, not a bad price. Thanks, Matt.

Rick: I've had that stout but not for breakfast. It's really nourishing!

With all of that talk about a Flicka I thought that I would pass this on for Bob23 to drool over:

Saw this one as well earlier. Not sure what the "new Deck" entails but the earlier Flicka's pre-1980ish had some deck core issues that was corrected in later models. If all the thru deck hardware had been kept well bedded not an issue but if water had penetrated the balsa coring developed issues. The yellow hull will make Bob easy to find!

Well Heave we can't all have well developed tastes for beers! I know both Susan and I really didn't care for IPA's initially but have now developed a palate for them. Heck i never even liked my first taste of beer! Got over that though.  :)

Pedro and I have been kicking around a couple ideas for the summer gathering. So many opportunities down there, so stay tuned. Regardless of where, it is you guys that make the gathering memorable!

Based on another discussion that we had, here is the article:  http://www.yachtingmagazine.com/jimmy-buffetts-next-yacht?image=1

As much as I would love to attend one of these, conflicts have always arisen.  This time it was my mothers 93rd birthday celebration.  Looks like a good time was had by all.

However I must comment on the beer discussion.  I too, have been guilty of bashing Bob23 for his defense of PBR as a quality beer.  I now have to admit I must have been wrong.  The Admiral and I recently had lunch at the Neon Pig in Tupelo, MS a restaurant favored by locals for some time and known nationally as  result of their smash burger winning the "best burger in America" competition several years ago.  With deepest apologies to Bob, when we entered the restaurant I saw this:

Well while on the subject of beer, had brought a great dark beer from Founders called Breakfast Stout.

Stout is for breakfast or at least for brunch depending on the night before.  When the whole family gathers at the beach we always have an Irish brunch which consists of oysters on the half shell and Guinness Stout.  There is nothing else needed.......

Glad ya'll had a great time!

Hey Brack, ya need to ask Bob about the very special plaque in the men's room at Merrior. I tried to buy it from them just for Bob, but they wouldn't part with it!

Hrm....I thought that big porcelain object in the Men's room was to catch the necessary stuff to make PBR!  LOL

Why waste money on high test when regular works just as well?

Ok, time to weigh in and then I will stop. We refuse to drink many beers not only because they simply don't taste as good as many of our local brews, which we like to support, but because of the poor quality of ingredients in many of the major "beers". Many have 49% rice because it is a cheap grain. They would use more but then they couldn't call it beer. Secondly they have little regards for quality vs price point. I get it, not everyone likes to pay the same price for a six pack of quality craft beer when they can get a twelve pack, or even more of the substances they call beer. I would rather have less of something good.

This website and others like it have allowed those of us who care about the brewing industry, influence what big business breweries put in their brews. I know Bob will not like this list as two of his favorites are on there. The good news is the brewers that listen, are making changes as folks become educated. Notice some of the changes already made since the list first posted.

Now back to topic! All this talk about beer, warm weather, getting back down to the bay for CBMWG, has already got me pondering sailing season and the possibilities. It'll be time for CBMSG 2.0 before you can say "make ready to come about"!

One thing that I dearly love about the craft beer explosion is that when you buy you support local!  It is fun to try different beers too.

Hey Heave if you go back to my previous post and link and reread the list carefully you will notice some of the breweries have corrected their less than wonderful practices. Guinness has now stopped High Fructose corn syrup inclusion and is working to eliminate the Isinglass, which is really just dried fish bladder used in cask beers/stouts to aid in clarifying the brews. It bonds with the particles, sinks to the bottom of the cask and is discarded, though some always remain suspended in the brew. The corn syrup was why we stopped drinking it for a while and we let them know why, but that has been corrected so drink up shriners!

Bob, its ok, but the other of your favorites on the list still has a few changes they need to make before we drink it!
