Hi all,

Curious to know if there are any Legacy owners in the SF Bay area and what their experience is sailing on SF Bay and the environs. I'm a novice sailor thinking about a pocket cruiser for the area but want to know if places like Tomales Bay and SF Bay (not the Slot, I know at least that!) are a little much for her.

Bonus - if anyone is in fact in the area and willing to let me take a look at theirs I would be happy to drive to you. Tough to find Com Pac's on this coast!

Dang few ComPacs on the west coast but there are some. I remember some Eclipses and 16's being in California but I don't remember if I've heard of any Legacy's. Sorry I can't be of some help.

I am a 19 sailor in Oregon...sometimes travel to the Delta but never S.F. Bay.  Not many other CP's near here but a 23 owner in Eugene, Oregon.

I'm a Legacy owner in Minnesota and have sailed in white caps with a reefed main and working jib with no problem as long as you keep that sheet line in your hand so gusts don't catch you unprepared to ease the main. The stiffer the breeze the more work. Wear gloves! Legacys are hard to find with only 90 produced so far. I went to N Y state to get mine. Very Happy with Loki ll.
She's my fourth boat and the best.  Mike Sr

There is an active West Wight Potter 15 group in the SF Bay Area. You can find them on the web. They can give you first hand information about sailing there. Good luck!
