Applied the name onto the boat on Saturday.  Went on really easy and I was impressed.  last one I did was a PITA.  I would recommend SignSpecialist.com   Good deal.

Al,

Looks great!  If I ever decide on a name for my boat I'll look them up.  Can you give me an idea of the size and font you used?

5 inch high.  Letter style is called "Brisk"  Color is obviously blue.  BTW it is 24 inches long.  Total cost for both sides was $49.45 delivered.

Thanks Al.  You in the water yet?  I hear it has been warm there.

It was warm (note use of past tense).  Today it is cold !!  Upper 40's with wind.  Brrr  Am not in water yet.  I decided that I needed to finish the trim on the garage project on Saturday out at the Lake.  Boat is going in this Friday when at least it might hit 60 with some sun.  I have to be in during April since I like sailing in all the months of the year.  At least that is always the plan.  Since we left Florida March 13, March was covered.  A month earlier than normal but it got Carol home for her mother's death, which was important to her.  When are you up here?  I think you said you were coming up sometime?
Sail on.,...  Al

Ah yes, Chicago in April, you just never know.  At least May isn't far away now.

I arrive into RFD at 5-ish June 2.  Not sure how long I'll be there, at least 2 weeks.  I'll let you know what my schedule looks like when I find out and we can find time to get together.

I'm having my lift rebuilt this week, the pilings were shot.  They are all done except for the electrician.  Owner paid for it, one of the pluses of renting.

Of course the best news is the SNOWBIRDS are gone!  Punta Gorda is a sleepy little town again!  I love late April and May here, the weather warms up, the sailing is perfect and we pretty much have the harbor, parks and restaurants to ourselves.  Oh, and traffic dies considerably.  A whole lot of people left last week.  I expect most of the rest will be gone by Sunday.

We were out 4 days last week, 3 of which we sailed and one day we catted.  We took an off day today for errand running.  The next 3 days look to be ideal (clear, 85 or so degrees, low humidity, and 10 knots of wind.  Yeah,  I'll be out on the water :)

My teak is looking tired after a year of sitting outside so I'll be tackling that project soon.  I use Cetol so it isn't a big deal to apply a couple of fresh coats.  I can do the whole boat in less than a half hour.  Then I need to hire someone to give her a machine buff and wax.  I couldn't stand to see her deteriorate like so many of the boats here and I don't mind doing the teak.  The rest I'll leave to someone else who has the skill and tools to do it while she is on the lift.

The canvas is starting to show some wear but everything else is holding up well, very pleased with how she sails too.  My first keel boat and I'm getting much better at it.

Stay warm,
Fair winds,

Bryan
