After 12 years of loving ownership I have decided to sell my Compac 23. I sailed mostly solo or with friends on the Bay during my ownership of the boat, but in the last two years my 6 year old son has joined me for 10-12 day sails every season, which has been great fun. Now he is asking his schoolmates and neighborhood friends -- and their mothers and fathers -- to join us, which I'm more than happy to oblige.  A few times this last summer not having a flushing head aboard became an issue. I discourage use of the portahead because I really don't want to take it ashore and clean it after every use but am just as reluctant to ask a young girl or her mother to drag their hindquarters off the swim ladder to relieve themselves. So ... am upgrading to a Harbor 25 that has the flushing head.

About my 23' -- has Bacon Sails (cut and sewn here in Annapolis) that are a mere three years old. A Yamaha 8 horse that is also three years old -- and that has been dutifully maintained every offseason. Running rigging is all only one year old. I replaced the original CDI rollerfurler with a new one two years ago -- and the new forestay came with it. A new backstay was installed this year. Shrouds are original but still solid. Interior is clean with all the interior teak in fine shape and cabin sole still glistens. Cushions are in clean shape. External teak has been refinished in several coats of clear Epifanes. I also replaced the teak in the bowsprit with a new piece sent from the guys in Clearwater, Florida.

I bought the boat from the original owner, a fellow in Indiana who stored it indoors on the trailer during the offseason. Yes, the boat comes with a trailer. I replaced the tires and brakes on the trailer 2-3 years ago. I only use the trailer twice per year -- to put the boat in in the spring and take it out in the fall. Trailer lights might need some work. The boat has had its bottom cleaned and topsides shrinkwrapped every offseason. New bottom paint has been applied essentially every other year. (Might need a new coat in the spring.)
