ouch!!!!  Painful truth

Now with that acknowledged, it is not a bad idea for keeping things cooled by submerging to depth. We took the lead of the locals in BC Canada, who keep their beer and wine chilled to temperature by lowering them in mesh bags to the bottom of the lakes up there. Works great! Umm...I don't remember seeing any BBR though. The stratification of the bay water in spring, with fresh water on the top which then warms throughout the season, keeps the colder more saline water trapped below until in the fall the surface waters cool to the point that a rapid, usually overnight kinda thing, mixes the layers. During the winter there is little or no stratification. This cycle is healthy for the bay and provides a distinctly cooler and insulated layer just when you need it for your brews! We use the same technique in a small but deep pond on our farm. A thirty degree difference!

So any mesh bags for brews under the tree this year? You can save money if you buy them with no tether, which is the recommendation for the BBR!

oooo...the pain of it all. Drop good PBR overboard without a tether? I bet MaryLee would love that.

It's a well known fact that Great White Sharks have very discriminating tastes in beer. Especially one that dares to sneak in the Barnegat Bay like she apparently did.
Good idea about the beer chilling thing but remember, I like Guinness and Guinness should not be ice cold. Just sayin'!!!!   And, we would never, never, never drink our Chianti chilled, riiiiiight? Room temp or a bit colder.

No Mas:  Interesting water stratification facts...thanks.

My bad! Meant PBR not BBR. Was way to tired from our weekend in WWW.

Nice shark tracking feature. Now if we can just get one to track unscrupulous loan sharks.

So...you just gotta assume things will cost twice as much since you have two women in your life.

Boats and Woman...  When I was in the Middle East some years ago, a local man told me that local custom and law permitted a man to have up to four wives, IF he could afford them.  Many similarities and many differences on boats and woman form mans point of view.  I would hate to drift off topic, risk braking forum rules, or bad karma.

I was lucky, and crazy enough to keep my CP-16 when I came down with a bad case of 20+ footitis.  Let me just say that my boats live on a budget so I get to sleep in the house, and not on the boat.  As far as twice the boats = twice the dollars...  I find that generally the bigger the boat, the bigger the dollars.  I just try and treat them all with care and respect.

So Sailen69, you know Bob23 is secretly (except the entire forum knows) looking for a CP16 so that he can have multiple women in his life. I am jus thinking out loud in case you would like to have a monogamous relationship again!

I agree, gotta keep them all treated well!

So you can stay on topic, whats ya gunna get the women for Christmas this year?

So Sailen69 just noticed the HIN on your profile info. Always hoping our first boat will find us again! Getting closer with a partial HIN and year of production 80'.

4 wives!!! That's terrible. I got into trouble when my one wife found out about my girlfriend. I can't imagine that times 4!!!

she asked me what i wanted for christmas. i said nothing sweetheart. i have received lots of gifts over the years, all of which she spent lots and lots of time picking out. some good, some i had to act happy but i smiled nicely cause i know her heart is always in the right place. after 39 years its enough to spend another christmas together. i am going to buy some nice cam cleats for "audrey j" this year though. isnt it always the case === the mistress requires much more than the wife.

I bought some 303 (30313-CSR) Aerospace Protectant from the Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KN0UOEE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Anybody ever use that before?  It has a picture of a sailboat on it, and 1000 reviews averaging 4.8 stars.  Hopefully it's good for the boat.

captronr

I've used 303, but more on autos than boats.

For the rubber/plastic parts of a car, it will shine them up like crazy.  Just be careful--I put some on my daughter's rubber topped running boards and they stayed SLICK for a long time.

Best price I found a few years ago was at a True Value Hardware store.

It is why our boats are referred to in the feminine!

On a serious note, I'd like to replace all the bronze cleats with one size bigger. But, they must be bronze just as the originals are. The bow cleat, after it is replaced with a bigger one, will be moved to the stern and a matching one will be installed on the opposite side of the stern deck. I considered a Samson post for the bow but considering I moor my boat, I'd feel better having a cleat.

I didn't request anything this year because I have some gift cards already from my birthday. What my 23 needs really is me to go sailing. I can, when I don't have competing things going on, which I do have right now.

Maybe I'll work on getting a bimini top, though. I have got them before and installed them on two boats. I got two mounting brackets and had two places to attach them. Sure, I could get the slide tracks this time; depends on what I do. I found a discount place that has biminis for 200 bucks. Best deal I have found, other than random Craigslist ads. For those, I want the item to be close by, so I can see it before I buy it.

We'll see. Happy Season, all.
