The SunCat and Horizon Cat really caught my eye.
Being a New Englander, the catboat design catches my heart.

Good Morning Susan. Well now i've said that twice today already! I hear ya on the Catboat look. Half my family is from Cape Cod and the traditional look for boats, as you can tell from our choices, sticks pretty hard with us. Our first boat was a CP16 so they have a soft spot there and are such capable craft as are the Cats. I've included a link to a fella named Keith Scott and his sailboat company down in North Carolina. He will forget more about sailing small craft than i will ever learn. He is a Compac dealer as well as does much custom work. Spend some time browsing through his site. Much to learn there.

I do hope that you will find your way down to "The Bay" sometime and especially for CBMSG so you can put faces to some of the great folks here. You may have already figured this, but it is quite interesting that you develop a relationship because of a boat and then feel you have known them forever. Our little boat "Mas"

Hi Rick,
I have already touched base with Keith. He told me to send pictures of any SunCat that I'm looking at and he will tell me all he knows about that boat. I like that!

Not sure I can make the get together in August but I will venture to the Bay hopefully in Sept when I have not one but 2 weekends off. Feast or famine.

And yes I would love to match the names ( or rather the beers) to the faces. You all are a hoot.

Hopefully we will hear from No Mas N.E. soon but know it's still kinda cool up there! Mas has however now been taken down to water and baptized for this season! She is also sporting a new rudder.

Don't wanna hear about it! It has been stuck in the low 50's today with rain, yuck. Gunna hit near 90 next week, go figure? As soon as this weather breaks we are going out. It's mid May for crying out loud and the middle of our sailing season here. Don't fret Susan it'll be warm soon enough there and in August we will be wondering why we are not up there instead of talking you down here! Oh...that's right it's CBMSG time then.

I don't know, Rick. If you want to be a sailor, you get used to any kind of weather.....just keep that new bimini up and avoid most of the slop. I turned around in the empty slip by yours today, and your boat was deserted- it was cold and raining, but I was warm and dry with the heater on in the Tug!!  I think that Susan the First might like comfortable boating......

In this rainy weather today here in NJ, I feel the tug on my heart to row. Love being in wild weather! One of the most memorable sails aboard Koinonia last summer was during 30+ north winds. Double reef in the main, 1/2 furled headsail, never felt unsafe and the spray on my face was marvelous!!

Sorry boys, gentlemen sailors don't do no stinkin weather! Well actually retired sailors go sailing mid week which is why you will seldom see us there on a weekend! We were at a gathering up here on that same said dreary day down there. Had actually been down earlier that week and brought Mas and took her out. Was down again this week and just got back home again this evening and was out sailing every day down there over the past four days. Tuesday was Mas's first reef sail with it capping out there. Today was Goldilocks weather but could only manage a morning sail before heading home to play our Thursday's music sessions here.  Boy was it hot Wednesday though. Spent a two hour lunch break sitting in waist deep water sipping on a cold one (Mountain Culture Kombucha) till the wind picked up, then it was off to the races. Literally was heading under the Norris bridge with a Precision 23 and beat her there. I did have the better tack and my new Ida rudder 

Sails are finally done for Interlude and they go on next week (actually they were ready last week and coulda gone on this week but Monday got down too late, Tuesday was too windy, yesterday too hot and today not enough time but mostly wanted to spend my days sailing!). Wanna go sailing before you think sheets are only for beds!!!!? Generally the boats see us Monday through Thursday and then it's home for the weekend. A little heads up for this weekend's weather, we are going to a music festival that we always refer to as happening the third rainy weekend in May (been at this one for over 35 years). Just remember i warned you about planning any outdoor activities! See you soon.

BTW:  Pedro the center span of the Norris bridge has major construction overhead and lots of sparks flying. Came back through the bridge under the next span to the north where it is clear overhead. Oh, and i intend to keep Susan the first, from any trawlers or tugs!

Yay! one more step to sunny day, sailing Sunapee Lake, Sun Cat sails (oops meant sail!) filled, a sunny disposition on except not n a Sunday! Are we seeing a pattern here!

Well, it was 2 years ago today we decided to get another sailboat and return to sailing after a 25 yr. (at that time) hiatus from sailing. No Mas is no more in our lives as she is with a new owner for more adventures. Mas is now our CP16 and Interlude our PSC31. We are sooooo......grateful for the many friends and folks that have made our return so fulfilling. We are very grateful.
