This is great news, Rick! And I'm glad you are sticking around, although I must remind you that once you join this group, you can never really leave. (Hotel California?? Mafia??) Congratulations on No Mas's adaption going through and I do hope that Jonathon joins up. Looking forward to some kind of fall or winter CB gathering. Stay well...been out sailing lately? The weather up here in NJ has been excellent!

It's been hot here still but at least wind. Was out yesterday and what do I spy.....A Compac 23D coming out from our little creek! Go figure, didn't know there was one tucked up there too! We hailed each other in passing kinda surprised to see one another.

No Mas came out of the water today. Readying her for her trip north.

No Mas is gone north. Look to welcome Jonathan to the forum. We had a good time meeting one another, a late dinner, a few ornery stay shackles, all buttoned up for hurricane conditions for the next 10 hours...........still kinda amazed about all of this.
Sitting aboard Interlude right now reflecting on where i was a year ago with this return to sailing thing, the boats, the folks we have met, the new vision that now permeates our thinking, Has it really only been 10 months?

Ok, now back to business....Bob, you and i still have that Guiness we owe each other. CBMWG 2?

Again, congrats on No Mas moving on. It's said that the 2 happiest days of boat ownership is when we buy and when  we sell. I have not found this to be true. And yes, we do indeed owe each other a Guinness and I'll toss in another round to celebrate No Mas new owner. CBMWG version 2.0 here we come!

(ps: I just don't understand people who don't like Guinness. My son and brother who both have excellent taste in beer both abhor Guinness. I guess our tastes become more refined as we age. I absolutely love it!!)

While in Punta Gorda, Florida visiting my daughter when she lived there, we visited the Celtic Ray, a must see. I had not only a few Guinness's but also a Guinness Stew! Yeah...I was pretty close to being in heaven.

It appears that Hermine has helped give the new owner of No Mas a good first sail with 20kt plus winds. Smile on his face with Main and Genoa out full with her hull catching the water on fire. You go girl!

Well first time back sailing after 25 years! We are excited and hope to meet other Compac owners in our area. (Deltaville, Topping, Va.) We cut our teeth on a Compac 16 with no electronics. lights, plumbing, wenches (no lady's would volunteer), or motor (my wife insisted we get one after a close call sailing into dock in 15knot wind without one!). We are now the new owners of a CP23D "No Mas". She has sailed Lake Superior, Alaska, Sea of Crotez and most recently Gulf of Mexico. The pervious owners had done many upgrades and she is truly a proper little yacht. Currently she is on her trailer (Late fall 2015),getting winterized, engine flushed and oil changed, some small maitenance items (that grew larger)and new bottom paint this spring (2016) before she goes into her slip and the adventures begin!

Coming up on the first anniversary of splashing our first sailboat in 25 years at this time. Thanks to all for a family that just appeared. Quite a journey it has been, with No Mas now in a new home and other boats now with us. Who woulda thunk?

Thanks Bob, You bet Mas will be there! We love that lil 16. We take her out every time we are down, though this season she will be having to share a little more time with her big sister. Unless you come down before, you will see Mas when she arrives for BBB.

How ironic a thread can have it's topic be suitable twice. Hope we hear from No Mas this year. It's getting to be the sailing season up there in N.E.

Hey there Susan the Other, here is a link to the coming out of the new owner of No Mas on the forum last September. I do know he was in the middle of a move recently, but still up that direction. There is also a young lady up there somewhere, dang if I can't remember who or where, but regardless she had a 23 also. Have you ever considered a 16 in lieu of a SunCat? Bunch of them out there and less expensive, and oh so simple to rig and sail. Meanwhile will keep my ear to the ground for ya on a Cat.

Hello Kick, No Mas was in Alaska for awhile with a previous owner but if only a couple years ago probably not her. She went to Baja after Alaska, then Florida and the Gulf for the next 4 years after that and up with us for only a year starting fall of 2015. We do hope the current owner will find an owner for her in the Great Lakes if he sells her, that way she can finish her circumnavigation of North America! She started her life on the water in 1990 on Lake Michigan>Alaska>Baja>Gulf>Chesapeake>Maine>? Mas our little CP16 we got last fall on the other hand, never really left central Virginia and a couple lakes there. She sat unused in a garage for almost 20 years before we got her.  She is used now!
