My boat came with a trailer that has an expandable tongue. Plenty long enough to float off. At times I don't use this feature. I do sink the trailer and Ford Expedition until the exhaust bubbles...Way cool. skip.

This is my first visit to this site and find it very informative. Does anyone have the Hutch trailer under their 19 with the hinged tongue? How do you use that and under what conditions?
I have fitted my cabin sole with teak and holly that was wet sanded with Sea Fin Teak Oil. Using 600 grit the finish looks like gloss varnish after about 4 coats. Easy care from that point on. This was rec. by the mfg. of the new sole.

Welcome to the site and no my trailer under my Com-Pac 19 has an extendable tongue that puts an extra Ohhhh maybe four foot between the tow car and boat. Works really well as I hardly need to put the trailer wheels fully under water. I always do 'sink-em' but don't need to. She floats right off with the greatest of ease!

Use the trailer jack with the wheel to take the weight up and just pull the pin gently push the boat back extending the tongue and put the pin back in. Works great.

I just came back last night from the All Sail Show at Navy Pier in Chicago and looked at some vendors who offered teak/holly grillage for the cockpit sole. Kind of expensive or I'm cheap! Maybe it was the wife glaring at me?
I have run 'naked' teak, oiled teak and Cetaoled teak. I shall continue to Cetaol [sp]. It's a little orange but I grew to accept it.
Go Bears! skip.
