Hey Frank, hope the trip is going well. Your photos look great. We used to have a place in Eleuthera, Gregory Town. If you get there, say hi to the Thompsons from AndrĂ© & Helen. I love your setup on the solar panel. Did the Hutchins install it for you? What brand name did you use? I live near clearwater and see them all the time. Mine is a 96 27/2. Just redoing all the electronics and sails. Any info on the solar system would be useful. Thanks. AndrĂ©   P S we lived in Mississauga for 25 years and sailed out of Port Credit YC.

Hi Andre'      I'll be sticking to the Abacos.

Solar...I supplied the parts and Rich did the mount. You can buy panels inexpensively at "Sun Electric" in Miami. They were "solar before solar was cool" and extremely well connected on 2nd's etc.  Best to go there and they haggle. Shipping is too $$...pick one up while there. My panel is 195 watt,s, a 30 amp charge controller and 2 extra 6 volt golf cart batteries.  I posted a few pics early on this thread

The cruise is over. Hauled, stripped and stored. 3 mths to the day...
The crossing was about 65 miles and I ended up with just over 550 miles total just island hopping.

These truly are great cruisers!

Final pics...    http://sailfar.net/forum/index.php?topic=4455.msg49855#new

I have been reading your posts and pictures hoping someday will come.

Don't "hope".....life pass's ya by...

It really is easy. Basic nav and sailing skills, good anchoring practices and you're in.

Let me know "when".....we'll chat about what to bring, where to go etc.

I "hope" to see you over there  :-)
